Our Beginnings

Gardner Family Eye Care was founded by Dr. James Gardner, a visionary and leader in the field of optometry. Dr. James built his practice with a commitment to both clinical excellence and serving the broader community. As one of the early pioneers in modern optometric practices, Dr. James embraced advancements such as hard contact lenses and helped shape optometric care in the U.S. He also spearheaded programs like the Lions Club glasses donation, furthering his mission of service.

Dr. James' son, Dr. John (Jack) Gardner, continued his father’s legacy, expanding Gardner Family Eye Care into the well-respected multi-location practice it is today. Like his father, Dr. Jack is known for his dedication to patient care, teaching patients about eye health, and fitting contact lenses that others couldn’t. His expertise in sports vision has led him to contribute to vision care for Olympic, Paralympic, and professional athletes worldwide.
